Bad Targetting

A while ago I shared a Linked In story (link in first comment). A lady I tried to connect with was deeply suspicious.

Last week I had my own experience of bad targeting.

On Monday I got a connection request. I accepted.

Then my new connection sent me a job offer! Part time work. I could do it at home or at work. 5 hours or 50 hours. Travel opportunities. Great income.

And apparently my profile was a perfect fit!

I declined. Of course I’m not in the market for a distraction from running my various businesses.

Then I got a much longer email from the same person. She extolled the benefits of what was essentially an outbound sales role.

I declined again, and politely mentioned that her targeting might be a bit off.

And a third email! She really wanted to sell me this job!

How many times can you say no, politely? And I struggle to leave an email unanswered, but I did, for 5 days.

Then I got the pitch again.

I removed the connection.

What a frustrating experience.

Have you been approached for a job that is completely wrong for you?
